Yorkshire Rose Therapy
Empowering people to live a fulfilling life

What can I expect from my first therapy session?
Typically, the first session involves introductions, discussing confidentiality, and gathering information about your reasons for seeking therapy and your history. We will also talk about what you hope to achieve through therapy.
How do I know if my therapist is the right fit for me?
It's important to feel comfortable and understood by your therapist. Consider if you feel heard, respected, and if you believe they can help you with your goals. It's okay to discuss your comfort level with your therapist and even to seek a different therapist if it doesn't feel like a good fit.
At Yorkshire Rose Therapy, we offer a free, 30 minute consultation which is usually an informal chat where we get to know each other a bit more and you get a feel for how sessions will run. It's also a good opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the therapy process.
What if I don't know what to talk about?
Many people feel this way, especially at the beginning. Hannah is trained to help guide the conversation. You can start by talking about what's been on your mind recently, even if it seems small or insignificant.
How long will I need to be in therapy?
The duration of therapy varies greatly depending on individual needs, the issues being addressed, and the type of therapy. Some people find short-term therapy (a few months) helpful for specific issues, while others benefit from longer-term therapy. This is something we can discuss and decide on together.
How do I prepare for a therapy session?
There's no specific way you have to prepare. Some people find it helpful to jot down key things they want to discuss, while others prefer to come with an open mind. Just being willing to engage in the process is what matters most.
